Consultancy & Project Support

Our Experience

We have extensive experience in global Project and Consultancy work within the field of International Trade and International Trade Policy Analysis working with both developed and developing country trade officials, researcher, practitioners, government ministries and civil society ministries.

We also have access to a broad network of highly experienced trade policy specialists and economists with experience and knowledge of all areas of international trade and trade policy, and trade negotiations. As we are based at the University of Sussex we also work closely with colleagues from the Department of Economics, and in particular with the Centre for the Analysis of Regional Integration (CARIS).

Our Projects

World-mapWe have led projects for the Foreign Commonwealth Office Prosperity Funds and Tactical Funds. We have also been part of wider consortia for other projects, sometimes in partnership with the University of Sussex (CARIS).

Some of our previous projects include working with ECOWAS (West Africa), CUTS (India, Africa), The Commonwealth Secretariat (Africa, Caribbean, Pacific), Indian Insitute of Foreign Trade (India), TEMASEK foundation (Singapore), DFID (Asia, Africa), USAid (Indonesia, Pakistan), GIZ (Africa), East African Community Secretariat (Tanzania), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (Turkey).

Examples of our project and consultancy work:

Commonwealth Secretariat – produced reports on the potential impact for Commonwealth developing countries of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, and also on the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Pakistan – India – Bringing members of civil society from both India and Pakistan together to cooperate in a series of workshops focused on Trade Policy Analysis.

Democratic Republic of Congo – Helped DRC to write a report on their engagement in Free Trade Areas.

EAC – Helped the EAC prepare their options for the tri-partite agreement.

ABUJA – Helped officials with using TradeSift to enable ECOWAS to ensure compliance with its WTO GAT article XXIV compliance for its new common external tariff.

OIC – wrote a major report on the prospects for closer integration between the 57 countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
